| Summary |
FOSCAST high alumina, monolithic, permanent tundish linings
are designed to give extended life under long sequence
casting conditions. |
|
| Description |
The FOSCAST tundish permanent lining is based on a 1700oC
low cement castable refractory concrete. |
|
| Application |
The permanent lining powder is first mixed with water
using a high intensity planetary mixer before being introduced
via a former to the tundish shell. The tundish former
is of mild steel construction and produced in a patented
modular form to facilitate easy removal. Low-density
boards may be applied to the steel shell for added insulation.
After installation, the lining has to undergo a controlled
curing campaign to remove the residual moisture and combined
moisture to form a ceramic bond. |
|
| Function |
The correct installation of the FOSCAST tundish permanent
lining is a vital part of the whole tundish operation.
A correctly installed lining should last for many months.
For best results it is important not to use water to
cool the tundish between campaigns. FOSCAST tundish permanent
lining is specifically designed to be compatible with
TUNCAST and TUNDEX tundish working linings for maximimum
efficiency. |
