| Summary |
FOSCAST well blocks are used in ladle slide gates or
as seating blocks for purging plugs. |
|
| Description |
FOSCAST well blocks are high density pre-cast refractory
bricks which are designed for use in the ladle (or tundish)
bottom to house the inner nozzle or purging plug. |
|
| Application |
FOSCAST well blocks are pre-formed by vibration casting
or pressing to give high density. The brick is set into
the ladle bottom above the tap hole or purging location
in the ladle bottom. A hole in the block is designed
to match the shape or taper of the inner nozzle or purging
plug, which is secured in place using high refractory
cement. FOSCAST well blocks are designed for use with
FOSCAST inner nozzles and PAHAGE purge plugs. |
|
| Function |
FOSCAST well blocks are used to locate the inner nozzle
or purging plug accurately and facilitate installation
and removal. Their high density and erosion and corrosion
resistance enables them to match the performance of the
ladle bottom. |
|
| Benefits |
 |
FOSCAST well blocks are highly refractory with
excellent erosion and corrosion resistance. |
 |
Uniform properties are maintained throughout the
product. |
 |
Long life is assured.
