| Description |
TUNDEX CS tundish lining is a free-flowing powder, which
is positioned in the tundish by means of a former. After
a short time it becomes hard as a result of a self-setting
reaction, to form a complete tundish working lining.
It is of monolithic construction giving consistent internal
dimensions to every tundish. TUNDEX CS is a high quality,
dry, consumable tundish lining system for long sequence
casting. |

| Application |
TUNDEX CS is a free-flowing granular material, which
is first distributed evenly to a thickness of 25 - 50mm
over the tundish floor. A metal former, the same shape
as the tundish but smaller by a factor of the thickness
of the final working lining required, is lowered into
the tundish. The TUNDEX CS material is then introduced
into the cavity between the metal former and the permanent
tundish lining by means of a simple screw feed mixer.
After 30 minutes the former is then withdrawn and the
tundish is ready for immediate use. Formulations are
available for cold or pre-heatable tundish practices. |

| Function |
TUNDEX CS is a highly insulating monolithic tundish working
lining. Easy to install, it is a waterless system designed
for small and medium sized tundishes. The insulating
properties of a TUNDEX CS tundish lining ensure that
a good temperature profile is maintained during casting,
and being a basic material, steel cleanliness is not
impaired. The product is designed to provide a friable
residue between the skull and the permanent lining after
the casting is over, to facilitate smooth deskulling. |
